I have a 3 year old Omega Sea master 300M Regatta 44mm Diver (212.30.44.50.01.002) owned from new, but i'm liking the look of the new GMT Pepsi Tudor, question is should I trade the Omega for the Tudor or could this be a bad move...?

Welcome any thoughts or opinions.

If the Omega doesn't have sentimental value and you like the Tudor GMT then I say go for it. The Tudor is absolutely lovely and looks great. Got a look of one in the shops and regret a little not buying it. I have a black bay black which I will never sell so couldn't justify the purchase of the GMT.

Many thanks, my trouble is i like the Omega as well, ideally i'd try and justify both, but I've just bought a vintage 1958 Rolex day/date from a friend, and so it would be a little too much to try justify the GMT and not trade something in. The Omega seems to be worth some decent money at the moment according to chrono 24.

I'm at a Tudor VIP Launch event tonight at one of our local stores i use often, and so will have an opportunity to discuss it with them, maybe trying one on tonight next to the Omega will help me decide.

There still seems to be little stock around of the GMT, but i note 2 London goldsmiths stores have stock.

Is that from their website? They listed one as being in stock in Victoria so I went there and found out their website was wrong - just a waiting list. I too was after one but picked up a pre-owned North Flag instead for a great price, and it is probably more appropriate for my collection anyway.

Yes it was both their London stores, cant recall the 2nd one, but yes Victoria was one of them. I sense similar waiting list games for this model as with Rolex steel sports, if this is the case, i wont play along, will keep my Omega. Not desperate for one, just looks nice. Will speak with my AD tonight see what they know about stock levels, the same AD has opened a Rolex room and i went to the launch of that, not that i expect anything to come into stock soon, bit of a silly game really all this lists stuff.

They are not available walk-in from ADs as far as I can see (have only come across one in a dealer window that could have been bought); they do come up at grey dealers and privately at a pretty variable premium but go for overs. Steel Bracelet model did sell last night for £3005 on the well known auction site; but they are typically £3,500 and more being asked although who knows how many actually shift.

I am coming round to the idea of wearing mine rather than selling (freely admit I acquired one for that purpose); it is a lovely watch. But be aware that many are suffering date change issues (easy fix; it's just too much lube apparently but not what you expect from the Rolex corp).

Been fascinating watching the market since June on these; really random stuff occurring.

I'm waiting for my Tudor BB GMT to arrive, was supposed to arrive June. I've made several payments including deposit towards it already (0% finance was offered so why not)

If you can find a dealer than has one in that is available then get it! I also own a Seamaster 300m and got to say I love the look of that Omega you have.

as much as I like the Tudor (and it has a few pro's over the Omega) id say keep the Omega.

Isn't this the one with potential problems? I've got one on order and was told 18 months 3 months ago. I suspect of a problem does need resolving it'll be pushed back further.

Date window issues, appears too much oil in the mechanism.

I looked at one last night at this launch evening, its a really nice watch, different to the Omega of course, and less Bling than a GMT master 2 (not that i have the option to be offered one of these yet) but the TUDOR looks classy and a good size on the wrist. Still undecided on whether i can part with my 44mm Regatta though.

Plus if there are date window issues, then well my Omega doesn't have any of this, and has been fine for 3 years.

Deliberation, I've asked my AD for some clarity on the date window issue - see how they respond.

Thanks for the posts.

I just looked up the Omega and it’s really nice. I have a 300m chronograph from 7 years ago (the one before the co-axial movement) and it still looks almost pristine despite it being my main watch for 6 of those years.

Yes this is what makes the decision harder, the chaps at my AD said i should keep omega, and buy the Tudor (but they would!) just cant justify it, as i'm waiting for a Rolex 116710 BLNR (have no idea when it might show - if ever!!).

1st World problems though i admit.

I was told by my AD who's event i was at last night, that i would be guaranteed one before XMAS as they have 40 allocated, and have 16 units left to supply.

No idea if thats true however.
