I had an engine warning light appear on my E93 M3 earlier this week. The dealer has diagnosed a Vanos fault, I'd heard of such issues with the E46 but I hadn't come across these issues with the E9*, can't find much on google either.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues? My car is an early one, 2007 with 42k on the clock.

Non on an S65 engine, but on a N52. Try removing and cleaning the vanos solenoids.

Items 1 & 4

And the non return valves for the oil supply.

Item 16.

If you swap them to opposite banks at the same time and the fault code follow than replace them with genuine BMW parts.

Thanks for that. Fortunately the car has an AUC warranty, therefore its at BMW being repaired once the parts arrive, which are on back order.
