Where to get cam bearings done

Afternoon

I've stripped the engine and bores look great but need the cam shaft bearing replacing and the heads need skimming just as its good practice.Where do people go for machining? I'm on the Isle of Wight so south coast would be handy.

If you've done all that work why not attempt yourself with the cam bearing tool. Not so difficult.

I had made one years ago but left it at my old house, is there one you can buy ?

Yes a Lisle 1800 from the US. It's a good bit of kit but even so some bearings are to tight on the i'd which can be a bugger to sort out. I think it pays to prep the housings before fitting the new bearings.

Nice to hear that the bores look good, but have you measured them for size and ovality plus taper.
Because sometimes looks can be deceptive.

If the honing marks look good the bores will be fine.
