urgent 968 cabriolet hood help needed!
Discussion
I'm very much hoping some of you PHers are so sad that you are spending friday night on the site rather than carousing, and will be able to help out. Pride goeth before a fall, and I was just remarking to a work colleague this afternoon how much fun a soft top is in the spring sunshine. But on the way home there was a snapping sound, and a large bolt holding the hood mechanish has fallen out. the whole strut mechanism has parted and though Ive found the bolt I cant find its nut nor put it back together again.
I'm going to try the local OPC tomorrow first thing (Carrs of Exeter) but on previous trys they didnt have a mechanic in on a saturday. My usual stalwart, Crispin at Oaktree Garage doesnt work weekends
so any recommendations in the south west for an independent open on saturday that I could get to in half a day from taunton and who could fix this before it rains??

thanks for that. have spoken to OPC in exeter who say the whole hood has to come off and be realigned. depending on parts, could be out of action all week. was going to take it down to exeter from taunton this morning but now its raining....hard...
going to have a stiff gin and hire a Yaris for next week. not in that order though...

Softinthehead,
Check out this company:www.bas-international.com/
They've got a few pics of a '68 roof there they've done so they may be worth a quick ring if your not already committed to OPC Exeter.
They're now doing a nice glass window conversion for placky windowed Boxsters too. Which is nice
