Old R8 plus to new R8 plus

I’ve a first generation R8 plus coupe; I chose the coupe as I used it to go away with the wife and the extra storage behind the seats made a huge difference to how much we could carry, or how much wine we could bring back.
Owing to changed circumstances we won’t use the Audi for the big trips any more, so I can swap it for something less practical if I want, and am considering the new model R8 Plus convertible.
Has anyone here owned the old and new, and could you tell me how you found them to differ?
The only issue I have with mine, compared to the previous V8 is that the suspension feels like too much of a track set up. It seems to bounce off imperfections, not soak them up, so feels less planted on normal roads. Has the newer one backed things off a bit?
