Interesting stuff. Nick named the white elephant.

Peter Wheeler commissioned a 180mph car and this is a prototype.

It has a 1988 4,987cc LB9 straight out of a Commodore. Few bits added and is rated at 288HP at 5,200 rpm and 283lb ft at 4,800 rpm. Not bad.

We'll have to invite him to the next meet (after its restored).

Rumours are that some one is trying to put an LS1 in a more recent model

Jellison from PH and no doubt other forums is currently fitting an LS6 engine to his Chimera.
Engine is in teh car, I think he's just finishing off some work around it, exhausts etc.

Should be one very quick TVR

Bigger, bigger.....

The LS6 engine will feel so good in that car....

The normally aspirated LS1 in mine felt good and it weighs about 1650kgs. But it feels SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better with the blower lol, and its still a std LS1 motor. Cant wait until I build a boost ready engine.

Do you have any pictures of your current ride Steve? I know it is slightly off topic but I am interested in your blown LS1.

Only time I can see myself coming across to England with any certainty is for TOTB4 on July 31st at Elvington, York.
Although by that time I should have built a better engine, and be running about 15psi or so. Now wont that be cool !!!! Maybe more, Maybe less, just have to see how it performs.

I'd like to get across to Santa Pod at some point too, but as you can imagine, the car has eaten all my money, which makes it difficult.

What is the blower on the HSV - Magnasson? I know there is a kit (well 2 I think) I can get that goes straight on and LS1 / 6 (+ chip reprogramme - to suit each). Doubtful I will need it as my car is so light (relatively).

London to Brighton in others mini yesterday and thinking this will get a Magnasson late in the year if finances permit! (do it without telling her!)

Can't see one going into a Tuscan for a good while - owner will battle through with the crap SP6 Engine(great power - shit reliability!), Cerbs (now dead may go that way but late Cerb engine are pretty strong and reliable - but this is likely to happen.

Mine has more power and 100ft/lbs more torque than a new Sargaris! Similar weight and same brakes and a MUCH better gearbox.

Mine is a 99 car and based on the 500 model.

I know Stevie and other use Vortec but what about the more traditional route - www.magnacharger.com/gmc5corvetteintercooled.htm

This is what I'd do. But I think I willbe having issue with traction with a tweeked LS6!

Magnassun may be good for low down torque, but top end they struggle.

The very reason I went for a centrifugal blower was I didnt want a massive hike in low down torque. All that does is break traction, and become useless.

I suffered major traction problems with my old twin turbo rover engine, in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and had less power than I do now with the LS1. But that sudden rush of torque was hard to control.

Now there is more power overall ( a lot too ) and the car is far faster. And so far in the dry, I even have good grip in 2nd gear. I have changed my suspension setup, but a lot is down to power delivery.
Magnassuns and Whipples just produce to much down low for what I wanted.
The even spread and smooth power delivery of a centrifugal fits the bill nicely.

Hi Richard,
In 1988 TVR flew in Holdens chief engineer from Australia to chip a custom ECM especially configured for the car.

My SEAC is running great thanks,i've another on the way so you need to tune the barge up alot more
how many horses will you need to keep up with a 580 + bhp SEAC

Thanks for that, I would be curious to know who the chaps were that came across, Holden or TWR Engineers?

As for the barge bit, I'll just put 4 adults AND all the luggage in the car and give you a go
