Nitrile/Latex gloves over summer gloves?
Discussion
I've managed to come to work this week and left my goretex gloves at home.
I'm finishing work in an hour, have a 70 mile commute hone and only my thin Dainese short summer gloves with me and it's lashing it down.
I've snaffled a pair of latex gloves from the workshop and am considering putting them over the top of my gloves and keeping everything dry. I am dubious about how slippery they may be once wet though?
Any one tried it? Is it as sketchy as I fear it may be?

Under the gloves is the way to go IMO.
What's the point of that? The gloves will get wet from the rain, and your hands will get wet from sweating inside nitrile/latex gloves
I wouldn't want wet rubber on metal levers.
I went for rubber gloves over the top of my normal gloves. I can't remember the brand but they are the reasonably thick blue ones.
They went on over the top without any problem at all, no rips or anything.
It was torrential all the way home and my hands were perfectly dry and the rubber gloves stil 100% intact.
I have to say that the grip on both the handlebars and the levers was perfectly fine, in fact maybe even better than my normal gloves? The rubbery 'grippy' tips on them do get canny slippery when wet anyway.
So to sum up the journey
70 miles
Heavy rain the whole way and masses of standing water.
Some XXX speeds.
Resulted in -
Waterproof RST boots - 0 (my feet were satched.
2 piece Richa waterproofs - 0 (a little water ingress around the midriff)
Dianese summer gloves + nitrile glove over they top - 1
To be fair to the waterproof suit though, the major reason for a small amount of water getting through was down to the sheer amount of rain & spray. They were that wet that wind coming from the front eventually started to roll the water up from my legs and above the waistband.
So yeah, if any of you passed a throbber in blue gloves between Malton and Durham this afternoon. ... That was me.
