I have an underused genuine BMW bushing failing on me. I don't drive much. So I have gone a bit negative on paying high price for crappy parts.

I looked around for alternatives and found a dirt cheap part and wondering if anyone has a view on it? https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/ruville/12787005

Ruville are owned by LuK/Schaeffer Group so should be fine.

I kinda thought the same. But they seemed too cheap and that scared me. In any case my BMW part failed way too quickly. I don't think anyone else could do worse. So, I ordered already. Under £29 including delivery, probably from somewhere in Europe.

Ruville are owned by the scheaffler group which also own FAG, LUK, INA, these brands are all very high quality with history going back 100s of years in the case of FAG. I would purchase any of these brand without hesitation. Buycarparts.co.uk is a subsidiary or autodoc and will come from Germany and will likely arrive in an autodoc box but except to wait up to 2 weeks for arrival.

Lots of companies own lots of other companies and make lots of products to different tolerances/qualities.

Just because BMW own Rolls Royce, doesn't mean your Mini will have £30k of premium, single-hide leather in it.
