Peugeot 205 Cti - keep or sell?

I have just been gifted a 1990 205 Cti 1.6 cabrio with low miles. Haven't even seen it yet but I'm told it is in good order, been serviced yearly, always garaged, and done less than 500 miles between MOTs for the past few years!

I've looked at prices for these and there seems to be a big range. I can keep it garaged etc but wondering if I should sell it on, or keep it?

Any advice would be great, also thoughts on what I should look at doing to keep it in best condition? Would it be a good runaround or better to keep wrapped in cotton wool?

Best time to sell would April/May just before the summer as the market will rise then for cabs.

Pop over to 205GTidrivers.com forums - they are a great resource for help and information.

There is no rush to decide, prices for rarer and good conditions 205s will stay high for a while atleast.

Me personally, if your not too attached, put a suitably high price, keep advertised on the various free/cheap sites and see if anyone bites.

As its a gift and you have a garage keep it,unless you need some ready cash at the moment. If its in good condition,including the hood. Give it a good valet,nice coat of wax,a bit of WD40 hear and there,cover it up and forget about it. It will increase in value as time goes by. You could also tax it for a few months in the summer and have some fun in the sun at some classic rallies.

Gti maybe. Cti not so sure. The cash may do better and in a stocks and shares isa.

Cti just doesnt have the value of the Gti, but a great keeper all the same

Cars always cost money to run which will eat into any profit you stand to make.

Sell it and buy something you want.
