Help identifying boat trailer
Discussion
Hi,
I would appreciate some help identifying this trailer which I've been asked to sell on behalf of the owner.
For several years it has been used as a flat bed, but was originally a boat trailer. There are 6 uprights with a small caps which can pivot.
The bed is just short of 16ft. the plywood base and sides look original. There isn't a makers name or chassis plates on the trailer.
Would be interested in what sort of boat it would have originally been used to transport for so hopefully someone can make use of it.
Thanks

In all my years in the marine trade, I have never seen a trailer like this, but we do have a small Dart 16 catamaran in storage here, which sits on a trailer similar to that. The uprights may (and this is a very large may) sit inside the catamaran hulls to allow the actual individual hulls to sit above the wheels. Being a single axle trailer and of fairly light build, I would say it isn't going to be for anything substantial, so will stick with my lightweight catamaran theory.
Could it be for a racing rowing shell?
Someone's homebrew version of this:

The boats split in half - maybe the posts go into the hulls?
