A discussion that I was having in the pub over the weekend, spawned from a mate telling us he had just bought a new record player to listen to some of the old records he has inherited from his dad.

We then wondered - in 10 years time, or even, in 20 years time, what of the current things we use daily will fall out of favour, only to come back "in" with a smaller, but more dedicated, fan base? I note also that Sony are re-releasing the original PlayStation this week, albeit smaller and pre-loaded with games, as a bit of a retro throwback to the mid-90s

I wondered whether the existing type of laptop computer we are currently familiar with, and have been for around 20 years now, continue? Or will everything mostly be cloud-hosted and you just log in wherever you go to access your files/content etc? Thus leaving a gap for the traditional portable device to come back?

What else do we think could change?

Hipsters of the 2030s and 2040s will be the first to pioneer long-forgotten food as eaten by their parents, such as that from Europe.

pavements, you know for walking on. To combat the increasing issue of obesity.

That fantastic new concept of actually walking somewhere, as oppose to driving/being driven in yr automatic person POD.

Tattoo sleeves.

I remember in the 90s it was fashionable to have a tattoo band around the top of your arm. You can always tell someone is in their late 30's/40's if they have one.

Handwriting - good suggestion. I have always had terrible handwriting and now there's barely a time when I actually need it for anything.

However, there are definitely people who still take great pride and care with their handwriting when it matters to them, which is always a pleasure to see

Things like vinyl records and watches with mechanical movements and proper cameras are all good equipment though.

In this vein I can see leather shoes and clothes made from natural materials becoming retro. Also speaking to people and also making friends or meeting partners in a pub or bar to make comebacks.

Also as sex robots appear, having sex with other humans will become retro.

Especially true if it is a tribal sleeve.
