Sold an item on Ebay back in August and used Parcelforce , but after a couple of days it was clear that they had lost it , got told a succession of lies but quickly refunded the buyer and lodged a claim with Parcelforce (I took out adequate insurance).

A month on and they are saying

"Currently your goods are still under enquiry and we cannot yet give you any definitive answers until we have had updates from the courier.

We do appreciate your patience at this time and we can assure you that you will be updated accordingly. We do intend to solve your issues as efficiently as possible but we cannot place a time limit on the enquiry"

I don't see how this is reasonable so I'm guessing at some point I will need to escalate this potentially via money claim online anyone got any experience of this ?

Communicate with them and give them a timeframe (maybe 2 weeks from the date of the email) to have it completed otherwise you will raise a claim via MCOL (Small claims court). Then if they dont follow through and raise a claim and see how quickly they investigate then

I recently claimed for a lost parcel (a bumper at 2m length !!). all done online as could never get hold of anyone, took 28 days from start to finish and when i finally got my cheque it wasnt for the full amount as they had took some off for "depreciation". I was too worn down by the whole process to even fight that.
Oh and i have a business account with them so you would have thought it was an easier process. May have just been coincidence but when i started giving them grief on twitter things moved abit quicker

When I sell anything of value on ebay I always use their shutl service, doesn't matter which courier on their list

I sold a £300 amp, it arrived with a broken glass screen so I got him to send it back and refunded him on receipt , I'd insured it for £300 but glass isn't covered

Checked it and yes it was broken but it's plastic not glass, so I claim, because it's been handled by shutl and ebay they have access to the correspondence and pictures showing the damage

In under a week the £300 is back in my paypal account.

If they've lost it and you've insured it I doubt they have a leg to stand on but I'm sure they'll be doing their best to find it to avoid paying you out

I had a problem about 6 years ago with the Post Office and Parcelforce; I wont bore you with the full details but it involved the loss of a ring valued at around £1k, it was finally resolved by writing (recorded delivery) to the Chief Exec. of Parcelforce. Good luck.

Its amazing how a company whose primary role is deliver things can be so inept and slippery when it comes to admitting they didnt do what it said on the tin with all manner of excuses and get-out clauses.

Its hard for them to tell which light fingered employee lifted it.

Until then, I imagine there is an element of doubt in their minds as to whether they had an empty box all along.

Parcel Farce as they used to be called back in the day... We used to run an online wine delivery service for one of the major brands 10+ years ago. We had one person working full time dealing with ParcelForce issues. It sounds like little has changed...

We had less success. I sent a load of stuff by Shutl but when something went missing they said it had been signed for. The buyer insisted it hadn't arrived.

I had to refund and was out of pocket.

Recently we bought an item on ebay (from a Business) that arrived damaged. Contacted the seller and they either ignored communications or sent odd replies. Raised a case with eBay who found in our favour, sent the item back using their tracked service. A few weeks later for a no reply email from eBay saying item wasn't returned so no refund and case closed. I have a tracking number and proof of delivery!

Out of pocket again

eBay is really a st place to buy or sell stuff these days

I have a business account with them. Don't use them any more.

One parcel post.

One Parcel delivered to wrong address (wrong road), signature forged by driver, parcel thrown over fence.

The flat out refused to even apologise , rarely replied to any queries. I asked for a new accounts manager or I'd leave. They closed my account. Lol. And I send a lot of parcels. Glad I sold my shares!

I now use UK mail/ DHL .

Someone within parcel force stole my stainless exhaust I'd sold for £250 very deliberately and in a very well executed manner. (The buyer I think knew the guy delivering it). Long story short it took me 6 months to get my money back, parcel force made me send in evidence of purchase, cost of replacement, photos of the exhaust, they basically tried their best to avoid it despite having taken a signature at delivery on a guaranteed package. They claimed some sort of admin error had appointed the wrong signature to the wrong package, easy to confuse a barcode on a 5ft long exhaust system going to a rural address in Wales...

Sent a guitar worth £450 on the first of February. Wrapped in three layer on bubble wrap and double boxed, first in a padded case and the. In another guitar box you would get a new guitar in. Taped with parcel tape and covered in fragile tape.

It arrived with the buyer with a big duvet in the box and the neck cracked clean in the middle so some knob has either put their size 10s or dropped something heavy into it despite the do not stack sticker.

So I asked the buyer for detailed photos which they sent then sent the guitar back. I think got a quote how much it would be to fix £200 for a new neck and £120 to fix.

So I sent away the Parcelforce claim form with all the information and photos from me and the buyer three weeks ago so well within the 30 day claim limit.

Got an email today saying ‘claim rejected’ because they said they received it after the 30 day limit. Now I simply don’t believe it took three weeks to get to them having dated the form 07/03/2021. I believe this is just a way for them to get out of paying.
