Hi all the Monaro Maniacs, I havn't posted for a while and thought I would give my view of running the beast.
I've done about 2 thousand miles since the middle of March.
I cant stay out of the car it is so much fun. I dont seem to get the fuel economy that has been reported by others I get 15 mph or so on short runs around town and in traffic and about 23 on longer runs involving motorway cruising. I get sooo many head turns as the car goes past even been asked to start it up in car parks (had to oblige).
On a different note I saw some threads regarding Holden or HSV badges for the car, does anyone import these in kit form? if so who
I am not worried about driving a Vauxhall
like some, but I think the car has a pedigree to be proud of and we should put it out there.
Also do any of you fancy meeting in the Staffordshire country side some time

Glad you're enjoying it!
I only get around 18 mpg from my car (tuned) several people (and autocar mag) have said that they don't get near the factory mpg figs. The figs are calculated differently now days (car is put on rollers and some sort of average fig is taken) rather than driving it on the road, I believe.
I have all Holden badging on my car. UKHSV can sort you out a set - well he did for me

You say you have the Holden badges...
I've just bought the Holden badges & the only one I didn't get was the steering wheel one...
Did you get this one ?
If so did you have to change the air bag part of the steering wheel or does that badge get removed & replaced.
Cheers

Rumour has it that the badge on the air bag just peels off ..... but I don't think anybody has had the courage to try it yet. If it does come off, as said, surely it wouldn't be too difficult to replace it with a Holden one, or leave it off altogether?
Must admit, it does bug me, having all the Holden badges except the steering wheel one. Not that I hate Vauxhall - far from it - just think that they should have sold it as a Holden and exploited the heritage.
Who remembers when GM sold both Vauxhall and Opel in the UK? Up to the mid '80's as far as I remember. The Brochures were headed 'Vauxhall-Opel'. Maybe with the Monaro they should have badged it "Holden-Vauxhall" with Holden to signify the performance
Whoops .... thread hijack
