Citroen picasso revving

Hi my daughter has a 2006 Citroen picasso 16 valve Peyton and when it top gear it feels like it's revving to high even though throttle is steady . It feels like it need another gear , it's not clutch was thinking it may be throttle body or something .

It sounds as if you think top gear is not geared high enough.

Hi thanks for reply greenv8s that's what it feels like and as you are driving on a steady throttle it sounds like it's revving and if you put foot down the engine responds and car speeds up so definitely not clutch

Is the engine speed actually changing while you drive along at constant road speed?

At least when the car is being driven in top gear the engine is revving. That's a good sign compared to most of the problems posted in here.

Maybe if you are more used to diesels, the higher revs of a petrol engine cruising in top gear sound abnormal?
