Find a good quiet spot to go for a dander, sit on a wall or bench and just enjoy not having to do anything or be anywhere and watch the world go by. That's what I'd do.

Thanks for suggestions so far ... KEEP 'EM COMING ... DIY is probably what I should do ... (& not the porn variety) ... am watching JDM vids on YouTube and catching up on gossip here but after an hour or so that'll get lame; still keen not to "waste" the day if possible.

What DIY should you be doing?

9am
From now until midday will be a blur, the quantum acceleration device that is activated on any day off cannot be stopped. If you're lucky you might be able to mow the lawn in that 3 hours. Generally just stand around looking lost in your own house procrastinating.

Midday
Pot noodle for lunch, if anyone knocks on your door make sure you answer in pants and pot noodle stained vest, you should be cracking the first beer of the day, and be quite heavily sauced for the next stage of the day at 3pm. Fill the 3 hours between with watching top quality scud on the internet and looking out the window in to the garden.

3pm
On to the tough part, 3pm. Reflect on the wasted day, as the guilt from all the self abuse fills you in a half cut stupor, try to relax and let the regret wash over you. Enter the long dark tea time of the soul. This is where you will play over all the potential activities you could have done, instead of being a total garbage person. Car or Motorcycle you didn't take out for a run, exercise, walk in the park, coffee, people watching. You did nothing. You are a stain on the toilet bowl of society.

6pm
Your wife arrives home. 6 hours of heavy drinking means you are asleep on the sofa, surrounded by empty scrumpy tins.

You get the idea. biggrin

Take a long and peaceful st.

Shower.

Make some effort with a decent Bacon & egg sandwich with a cuppa tea from a tea pot. Read the news.

Lay on the sofa and channel hop for a couple of hours.

Go into town and buy something....Doesn't matter what. You won't need it anyway.

Pub lunch...proper steak pie chips and peas. Decent pint or two.

This is now dodgy ground but assuming you don't just stay and get st faced...

Head back home...Feet up, put a movie on that you never get to watch.

Pick kids up from school.

I'm off today to.

Maybe you could come over and pick me up and we could do a Thelma and Louise?

^^^This.

I live in London and if I have a day off I usually go to Hammersmith and take a walk to Richmond Park and walk around the park, sit on a bench and sit with my thoughts (or a book) which I love. Maybe you can drive somewhere similar and do the same?

In this context, what's a dander?

Drive around the Peak District?

Brewery tour in Burton. I remember projectile vomiting all over the back of the coach on the way home from one.

Yeah, but by the 6th or 7th time it takes longer because of the chafing. Plus there's an hour of clean-up to allow for. Not to mention 20 minutes putting all your wife's underwear and toys back EXACTLY where she left them. Then another 20 minutes in the Shower of Shame, wondering why that video with the transsexual midget gimps kicking each other in the tits and balls only worked the first time you watched it....

Then tidying and vacuuming the entire house in 3 minutes flat at 5:57pm to make it look like you've had a really productive day...

Never underestimate how long it can take to procrasturbate.
