Hi all,

After a couple of years of happy M3 ownership, I am seriously considering a change to a 996 Turbo. I used to have a 996C4 which was great. I'm not at all unhappy with the M3, but feel like a change. Everyone says that the 996 Turbo is amazing !!!

Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts, advice, whatever ??

Thanks for all the replies. definitely gonna do it. Just a matter of finding the right car now !!!!

Couple of other questions :

1) Is the PCM (specifically the SatNav any good). The BMW system is a bit average IMO.
2) When was the X50 option introduced.

In answer to 1:
If the car is pre-MY2003 then it has PCM1 which is absolutely terrible and no-longer supported or updated by Porsche.

I ordered it on my car which was a march 2002 build, it was also only the second X50 the dealership had supplied. I would therefore assume it was introduced for the 2002 model year, ie cars supplied from about Oct 2001 onwards.

Sorry no experience of PCM. I wanted the space in the dash for "garage door openers" etc.
