996.2 vs 997.1 GT3

Would you buy a 996.2 GT3 or spend the extra £15-20k on a similar spec/condition 997.1?

Ignoring looks and values, is the driving experience worth the extra?

Will the running costs be any different?

I liked the 996.2 last of the true analogue GT cars .....

Thw 997 is - for the majority - a more comfortble to live with on a day to day basis. The 996 is the more engaing and analogue experience.

The caviat being that if you were to fit passive suspension and a decent diff to the 997, the experience would be very similar in terms of engagement.

I've asked this question a couple of time as I have had a 996.2 GT3 for 6 years and have often considered what I'd change it for.

When I've asked the advise I've generally received was that the 997 isn't really worth the premium, although in my opinion the 997 looks better.
