Was in my Elise Sport 160 on Friday evening following a TVR Cerbra on the M3 (Reg C** ERB) north-bound. Finally got to some clear road and we both sped up (me to an indicated 135mph), the Cebra must have been going faster as it pulled away from me. A few moments later I looked in the rear view mirror only to see in about 1/4 mile behind us a police bike with flashing blue lights. Totally resigned myself to the fact I was almost certain to loose my licence - fortunately the small prayer paid off and the police bike passed me and the Cerbra. Got away with it! Would be interested to hear from the guy in the TVR as to whether he'd seen the police bike too. Had it been called to an emergency or did we manage to slow quick enough to prevent him from giving us a conviction?

Well that's funny because I had a similiar incident at about the same time on Friday when being followed by a Elise.

However I was only going 80 mph so it can't have been me. Unless your speedo was broken.

I saw a flash in my rear view and thought it may have been Elise giving me the heads up or perhaps the blues from the bike. So I backed off to 70mph. Think he had other fish to fry.

I don't suppose there was a really annoying BMW in the outside lane on Friday for ages was there?

Hi Greenie,

Think Friday evening was a luck escape. I too hate that sickening feeling when you think you've just been done - esp at 80 mph.

Your car sounds and goes great btw. Wonder how my 160 Elise would compare against the Cerb on the more twisty stuff. Either way, the BMW would be left behind still in the fast lane and police bike trying his hardest to catch.

I'm sure the Elise would show me the way on the twisties. My Cerb is pretty well setup but no match for the Lotus.

Besides I never go over 50 mph on back roads.
