Car insurance with no admin fees for changes?
Discussion
As per the title really, have been a customer of Flux for nigh on 8yrs and insured countless cars and had several polices running and this was not only due to them being rather good but we also had an agreement that they'd waive their mid term admin fees for the likes of changes to the cars / address and so on.
Sadly my faith and enthusiasm for Flux continues to decline as they have now decided that they no longer wish to honour this long standing agreement (which is fine, no such thing as a free meal these days) but with it goes one of the main reasons for me remaining with them for so long / so many cars but this the slow demise of their customer service makes me think the end is nigh.
I have three cars, three separate polices... of which two could be insurers by your average high street provider, the third is a bit more specialist but ultimately, the thought of paying £30.00 admin fee to simply change an address or car over does not sit well with me so on that note, are there any providers who don't charge such fees?
I hasten to add, I'm fine paying the increase that the policy attracts... higher risk etc (though funny how it never goes down - move from X to Y... it goes up, move from Y to X and it goes up again... usually along with some feeble reason, but I digress) but it's the admin fees I struggle with, hence remained loyal to Flux for long time.
Any recommendations? Happier to pay an increased annual premium for a better level of service, more so with three cars as I'm fed up being passed from pillar to post and telling several people the same story several times. Any specialist brokers / companies who give you a contact who'll manage it all for you and not charge for every minor change?
With that off my chest... thanks in advance!

With Tesco you can go online and make the changes yourself, for free.
Give them a call and see what they say!
I did not know this. Give them a call and see what they say!
Flux used to be fine but of late every call takes forever and emails are useless... frustratingly slow process to make simple changes and then being charged £30.00 for your efforts is a sore one. Part of me wants to bill Flux for the hours I've lost this week just trying to change an address on two polices.
Any experiences with Chris Knott?
I could not agree with the OP more as it's one of my pet hates. It is sharp practice and a blatant attempt to extract every penny from "valued" customers. It is common practice (they rarely miss a trick), but plaster it all over review sites to publicise it. Most people don't think about it when taking out a policy

Admiral don't change fees to change cars.
They are quite hated on here though, not sure why.
Because the group own confused.com ? among other reasons, they also need to know about SACs.They are quite hated on here though, not sure why.
That doesn't make any sense.
I've been with 'Quote Me Happy' for the last couple of years. You are able to login online and amend your policy as you wish without any admin fees, with the exception of cancelling your policy. Quite handy for things like number plate changes.
They are online only so you don't have the option of talking to a human which may be problematic if you need to change something obscure.

I used to use flux, until they started to automatically renew my policy-this drives me mad,I want to receive a quote then decide if I want to give them my business.
Usually I could get someone else to beat the renewal quote and get flux to do slightly better.
However I will never use them again after they insist on this auto renew thing even after I specifically asked them not to do it when I took out new policies.tossers
And they wanted nearly five hundred quid to insure my modified R53 Cooper S
Got it for just over three hundred with Greenlight.

I used to use Flux even after they started to add on an admin or policy issue fee of circa £35 -£45 on a policy of crca£180. Normally they'd remove this and got my business, but last year my premium went up by a similar amount with no mention of admin fee ,so I ditched Flux. I, now into the last month of my policy and went looking for a quote from my present company to compare against others. It appears now that all insurers have to auto renew unless you tell them otherwise , thanks to HMG.
Again, I've found of late with contract renew ( so it's not just insurance) that they all seem to work on the "brand new customer only " principle.

Aviva if you make changes through their very good online portal. Their customer service is excellent if you ever need to speak to them and they give you 20% off if you have another insurance policy or pension with them. I have travel car and home insurance through them plus my pension.
