Encouraged by the relative ease of removing the plenum I’ve carried on and removed the trumpet base too. However, the fuel rail I can’t budge. I’ve removed all 4 bolts and the injector clips on one side so far. Seems the injectors are holding on to both the rail and manifold. What should I do next?
Thanks

The injectors do hold on to both the rail and the manifold with o'rings, and the angle of them also holds the rail in place. I would remove all the clips and just try applying a bit more presssure on one side to release the injectors.

Brilliant. Came off. Are these serviceable? Surprising amount of corrosion. Fuel rails too.

Are the super flares worth it...? Seems to be a fair few posts on the topic.

I'm at a loss to understand why you want to remove and replace (at great expense) what could be a perfectly working set of parts.

If they are in good order you will gain no performance by fitting new ones or fitting higher capacity ones.

Now they are removed send them off for testing and service.

Sorry, yes. I didn’t go into much detail. The engine is running a bit lean at the top end and also has an occasional misfire on cylinder 8, which may be overfilling at low revs. In any case, don’t they recommend injector cleaning and flow matching every 50k or so? I wasn’t sure how easy they would be to access at first but turned out not to be too difficult. Getting the o-rings back in sounds like the tricky part.
Now I’m in there, the super flare trumpets are looking very appealing. Just have to decide which of the three sources to go for.

I've used this firm for getting injectors cleaned and flow tested and can recommend their work.

they will go back in much easier than coming out as you will have greased them first. I use Vaseline.

if you change the injectors for something else, you'll naturally need to get the car remapped unless you consider the flow rate to be indentical
