Shocked there doesn't seem to be a thread?!

Anyone picked it up and been playing all weekend? Which consoles?

PS4 here, playing FUT, spend a small amount on packs and got jack all. Got a decent wee team going though. Enjoying it so far, slower and more reasoned than previous games, so still a lot of nonsense - never hit the crossbar so much in my life ...

I have held off buying it as I was going to purchase on the Switch as I travel overseas with work a fair bit and it makes sitting around airports more bearable but the reviews were less than favourable.

Holding off to be honest. I didn't bother with 18, and the changes to 19 don't seem worth it either.

FUT is just not a mode that appeals to me, and I don't agree with how EA try and hook people into it. Career mode hasn't changed much, and it looks like it still as a lot of the same issues it had 5 years ago. The head to head stuff can be fun with friends, but I've got Fifa 17 for that.

I love football, I used to love FIFA/Pro Evo. But there are better games to sink my time/money into.

Played about 6 games other day against a mate. Granted not loads of time but to me it played horrible. Could be an adjustment thing but I hated the defending aspect.

I think it is getting used to it. I like that Lee Cattermole doesn't play like Lionel Messi, and that pace isn't everything. I think one criticism I have is that it seems to be too easy for a defender to catch up with a striker and make the tackle from behind - running in behind is tricky now, and it seems that to score goals you need to play much more patient tiki taka.

I didn't play FIFA 18 but I think this is much more realistic than FIFA 17 - games play much more like real games (though with some amount of nonsense built in - the amount of times I hit the crossbar is silly!).

Definetly an issue with sliding in and that player being able to recover and get back. Not realistic at all.
