More pics and info here

Red tinted daytime driving lights! Amazed that's road legal.

Also reads like it can be ordered in the "Heritage" paint scheme of the one at Goodwood. And that the Heritage look will be available elsewhere on 991's...

No good in the UK as there's no convertible top , just a Tonneau cover.

My thoughts exactly. Still only a concept at the moment though - I don't think the engine spec is confirmed:

"In Paris, Porsche presented this year’s second Speedster Concept study"

Oh it'll get the GT3 engine for sure and you're right about the 500bhp claim.

Still time for that to change though wink

They're making 1948, starting next spring, all sold already. It's based on the 991.2 GT3 so it will have the 4.0. Congrats to the lucky few.

They're not all sold already; none have been allocated. (I'm sure some family members know they are getting one...)

To be more accurate, opc's already have waiting lists and are waiting for their allocations to confirm how many people on the list get one. Dealers can expect around 50% of their GT3 numbers.

I know one person at the top of the list at my OPC, this year he had a GT3 which he traded for a GT3RS which he'll trade for the Speedster.

I'd normally not say anything but don't you have a 996?!

Looks nice to me but I love 996s too. I bet this thing howls like a banshee to 9000 rpm! Hips need to be much wider like G50 speedster wink

disagree
No roof at all with just a tonneau cover would be even better

amazed how strong the market is - a numbers limited car limited to 1,948 cars. 10 years ago they probably could not have sold that many even if they wanted to (991Rs roof point above would have taken care of that imo - impractical, I'll just buy 2S convertible/targa instead)

Take the overs out the car it would not sell ! But then a few people bought the GT3 T I guess lol a buyer for every model, even the normal 991T, Porsche can do no wrong it seems.

People need a roof in the UK, my old Spyder gets so little use, but it's a 4th car.
I would not want this car unless rich and had at least 3 other cars.

Indeed Porsche is certainly on a role - maybe makes up a little financially for the fines/issues of the VW group as a whole

I would have thought that this will be a 3rd or 4th car for somebody anyway. I do take your point re the UK on board though - in Austria/Germany we had an excellent summer and probably 3-4 weeks without any rain (or at least hardly any) - so as a summer/weekend car, I think the roof will never be on the car anyway.

The owners shelling out €1.6M for the new Ferrari Monza are in for a shock then.

I think the Speedster and 991 in general is a bit big and bling. Still pretty cars though IMO. Saw a 991 targa today and it looked absolutely stunning - later on passing a string of 996s and they looked very nice too.

I doubt either of us would say no if Porsche offered us one - I'd drive it too smile

Very bloated, and proportions all over the place. Wouldn't want to p*ss on anybody's parade but it does look like a "squashed frog".

But it would be a super-boring world if everyone liked the same stuff. rolleyes
