I think i got zapped last night, it was a 60 as per the gantry's, then very unclearly it becomes a 50 before you turn off to Cribbs - not on the gantry but on unlit signs on the side of the road, as it was sundown i kinda missed this and got flashed. It really p!sses me off that its constantly being worked on and the speed limit changes like my underwear.

Be warned !

I have seen those cameras flash quite a few times. I am not aware of the 50 signs you mean, but the illuminated overhead signs do often change the limit as you come round the M4 and down the M5.

Just over a year ago (on my birthday!) I was caught by that camera. After crossing the Avon bridge and a number of 60 limit signs the last limit before the derestricrtion sign is 50. A article in the local paper stated that the camera by the 50 sign had caught more drivers than the total of the cameras (4 or 5) by the 60 signs.

I was "pinged" for 83 in the de-restricted after the lifting of a 50 by the RAC tower a few years ago - it appears that there's less tolerance on the fixed cameras in the district than in others.
