I cannot seem to find out the information i want for love nor money on the internet, and don't have easy access to a car to measure myself.

I am looking to upgrade from my E53 to an E70 as i would like something newer. but we have also recently had a son and as a result all the paraphernalia that comes with a baby! day to day he is in Mrs Buzz's golf, but there will be times where in future the whole family will be going away together (family includes a jack russell cross and a malamute cross)

I recently put the pram in the back of the E53 and it would only fit accross the car which took up the whole boot (therefore leaving no room for the mutts)

so what i would like to know is how deep is the E70 boot at its shortest - which i assume to be the distance between the top of the rear seats and the tail gate (due to the recline of the seats).

what I would love to do is to have the pram on its side aligned front to back of the car. without the wheels being removed that would make it 900mm deep and 600mm tall, this would then mean the dogs can have the rest of the boot to travel in. similar to the below photo but with a bigger pram (the one in the photo is for dogs!)

so if anyone has the ability to find out or knows from experience i would be very grateful to them. there are not many E70s in the spec and price i want near me, and I don't want to travel to another closer garage to waste their time to look at a car i have no intention of buying.

It’s 79cm from the top of the seat back to the nearest point of the tailgate, which is where it turns downwards. We can just fit a Mountain Buggy Terrain in the position you’re talking about, and that’s about as big as pushchairs come.

Brilliant, thanks for the response. we have a silver cross Pioneer that is listed as L86.5cm W60cm H33cm when folded, so thats 75mm to long by my reckoning. Though your buggy is bigger "(H x W x D): 93 x 63 x 39 cm" and you can fit it in, which is confusing me (not hard).

well if yours fits down the side then mine should!

With ours the upmost rear wheel tucks over the top of the seat back and touches the headrest which makes it doable. If you like I could take a photo tomorrow to help you visualise it.

No, thank you but that makes sense smile

Sounds like its quite likely it will all fit how I'd like it to use the space as efficient as possible. Our pram has a space between the wheels (which are also removable) so we can do similar if needed.

I appreciate the help

Better still, the 7 seat versions of the E70 have reclining seats in the middle, which could help in your situation even more.

Yes indeed, I have been mainly been looking for 5 seaters. we actually ended up going and looking at one equipped with the buggy, it was a 7 seated, I wasn't aware that the middle row recline and slide. This meant we ended up all fitting easily!

The buggy fitted in behind the 40 section of seating leaving for 60 side able to be in the fully back and reclined position.

Thank you for all the advise.
