Evening all

We have an Xbox One S in the house that everybody used, but with multiple gamers in the house I have just bought an X as well.

My account has the Xbox Live sub and I have set the new Xbox X to the 'home' machine.

It seems that only one Xbox can be 'online' at once. When my son plays Fortnite the box needs me logged in first to allow him access which it didn't before.

Once he's playing I'm unable to play Tombraider on the other machine as I'm logged into his machine! (even though Tombraider is offline).

How do I make it so we can each be playing online at the same time? Is this possible? Do I need another Xbox live membership?

TIA

Just give your son his own account (slap parental controls on it and no credit card).
That will make life soo much easier reducing problems.

Create an Xbox account for each gamer.
Set the console you won't be on as the home console.
Log yourself in to the other console. Other gamers can use the home console.
Both can be logged in and use your single Xbox live account at the same time.

Ok so the Xbox with gamertag that doesn’t have the Xbox live account needs setting as the home Xbox (father has main Xbox and gamertag with live, set sons as home)

Thanks for help.

Switching the 'Home' Xbox to my son's machine has done the trick.
