I have bought myself a 1986 Suzuki RG500 square four two-stroke. It's great except that i don't care much for all the graphics on the bike (part of the reason it was cheap for one of these very rare bikes).
The stickers won't just peel off as they appear to be laquered in or whatever the correct term is. Can they be removed or will it simply damage the original paintwork the bike has underneath all the Castrol and other adverts.
Any thoughts welcome.

If they are lacquered over you won't be able to remove them without the bike requiring a respray.

How about using a very sharp blade to cut around the sticker, through the clear coat, then trying to remove the sticker as normal. If it doesn't lift the paint, it should then be possible to rub it down and re-apply clear coat.

You'd think this would be a common problem. Perhaps someone who specialises in bike paint could advise.

If the decals are laqured over (excluding the tank), id suggest the paintwork underneath isnt original either, the decals where not lacquered over from the factory back then, any lacquering over decals is a pretty sure sign of a re-spray.

I'm sure the RG forum will confirm.

PS Any pics?!
