25M - what to do with disposable income?
Discussion
Seems pretty much there IMHO. I remember having an account and when it got to £20K I thought 'Ooh, car!'
ISA yes, pension yes. I can't advise you where (marketwise) to invest the rest of your surplus capital, but if you still have some play money left after that, the one up from cars is boats
NB Do not just just 'live' aka piss it up the wall. Money you squirrel away now will reward you handsomely in the future. But I think you know that.

I know that feeling, despite having no practical use for a car where I live.
edit:
If you like the idea of travel, its a worthwhile investment IMO.
I think it can build confidence, increase knowledge, create life lasting memories and allow you to reflect on life.

Unless I’m misunderstanding the OP’s numbers, 4k net a month less those listed outgoings leaves 2k, not 3k.
If you’re looking to make your disposable income make money for you, speak to a good IFA, not a bunch of anons on an Internet forum.
Personally, were it my goal to use money to make money, I would avoid converting to into a car. Cars for the most part depreciate, and come with outgoings (some fixed and predictable and others less so). OTOH as a fun feel good reward yourself-type purchase a two seater fast car is hard to beat.

Give it to an IFA and he will convert it into a car for himself! If you’re looking to make your disposable income make money for you, speak to a good IFA, not a bunch of anons on an Internet forum.

That is damn good advice. If you're an employee, you can lose your job.Barga said:

Dangerous talk! Mine latterly had a shiny new Merc, the cost of which was about the same as what he was creaming off my savings. I'm now 4.5K pa better off and he's back to driving old bangers. Nature has a habit of correcting itself.
