Brakes are limited by speed and weight, both of which ultimately determines G force when braking..Taking this into consideration the T's brakes AFAIK are identical to the Carrera Targa PDK which at 1590Kg a not inconsiderable 165Kg heavier than a manual T..Based on this the standard T's brakes are sufficient unless you track it hard where the PCCBs would be better.

Out of all the T owners I know, not one has complained about the braking ability of their car...

Brakes are absolutely fine.. I’ve had mine all over North Wales and the Peak District in wet and dry and no issues or fade on any roads.....

Despite what a lot of people will say on this forum, who haven’t driven the car.. the T is a lot different to a standard Carrera, S and GTS for that matter .......so test drive one and see which one suits you for how you want to use the car...you won’t be disappointed if you chose the T they are an amazing car...

some will say ok , some not, I borrowed a 718 GTS with it's bigger brakes as a loan and set them on fire !

not ideal, if you do 30 mph the brakes will be great if you do 4 stops from 130 mph then you prob set them alight.

I have a test route and the GTS brakes just ending up on fire, lots of smoke and smelled crazy with no stoping !!! , but then now we have cars which you are punching 130 mph on the straight bits,

I would say hard use the T brakes will set on fire like most oem brakes lol

It's well known I don't get the T model ,as the S is a better car and the GTs better again, both have bigger brakes and more power and In the S case cost less !!! Seems daft to buy a T , imo it was a GT3 sell off and now there are 35 up for sale at S prices !!!

buy a cheaper a S with more power and bigger brakes.

Big difference in mileage between those two cars also the T is 18 plate the S 67 plate again big difference value wise.

You need to drive the cars back to back and see which you prefer.

The T is a no brainer between those 2 for just £8k more. A few for sale usual story many have been traded for other cars but like the GT3s these will reduce in numbers into next Spring.

Many armchair experts on here don't understand the ethos of the car and never even driven a T which is a great package head a shoulders over the S.

Probably the same 'experts' who derided the 997 GTS some years back hehe

They both have an LSD, so no need to worry about that one.

Another very happy T owner here.

Echo the sentiments above. Greater than the sum of its parts.

I can’t help with the comparison but I do have a S and one of the most impressive aspects of it is the brakes. I track mine periodically and wouldn’t want less braking power - it will do a half hour at Bedford which is 100mph+ on several straights with no brake fade at all. Logically the brakes are stronger on the S but how much I don’t know.

Contrary to popular belief, I think the S is a superb car - I think all the 991.2 cars are good and just variations on a theme, probably depends on what you want and as sensitive to spec as model designation. Eg on the 2 you mention, rws would be important to me

I know this sounds crazy to some people on here who haven’t driven the T .....but honestly they are two completely different cars..! As you are serious .....ask your dealer to take both out for a test drive, suggest the S first and see what you think...

Just check the S hasn’t been at the Experience Centre...... if you end up preferring that..

and when you do make sure the S you drive has the same sus optioned as on the T as standard.
because the cars are not two completely different cars, they have picked the best bits from the S parts bin for the sus, and left it on base brakes. and like most drives the sus makes the car.

And you still have to option the sports sus if you buy an S, and most cars don't have it 2nd hand. bit like finding a Boxster 981 with x73, you could make the same car but not many people who buy these cars added the x73 on the Boxster GTS.

like for like test drives is key.
