Yep the one I did was via LoT and Paul did me a huge favour getting me on it. LoT are great. You just can't do much about the drivers.
Easytrack seem to have a lot of racing cars too pikey to pay for testing though, and there was a trackday experience day car their too which was extremely slow and never checked it mirrors to let people past, nor indicated to let people past.

Often due to time or budget constraints testing on a track day is the only way possible. Believe me if we had the choice of track day or official test day it would be the later everytime but often that choice isn't available. Pikey'ness doesn't come into it!

Budget constraint = pikeyness!
Most of the time its not a massive problem, but some racers do forget they are on a trackday. Bit annoying to have cars on slicks though which are always up your arse in corners, but then not necessarily that quick on the straights. The perfect recipe for getting everyone annoyed.

My last few with them (mainly via LOT) have been fine - but it's getting harder to find 'decent' trackdays.

Get an MSA license and start going to race test days. One of the reasons I "moved" up was difficulty in finding decent driving time. Apart from last race they've all beeen an absolute blast.

Dan,
the last Easytrack day at Donnington was much better than the previous days I've been on with them, so draw your own conclusions.....
BAT have always been very good in my experience, with very good briefings, and very good safety etc. If they run sessions, should be no excuse for bad driving/lack of experience. Open pit lane can cause a rather odd mix of cars/drivers on track at the same time.

To be fair that donny day we were on, was ok in terms of driving. Everyone was polite and obeyed the overtaking rules (except that track day experience car, which does surprise me given an instructor was in it full time - probably asleep). The stoppages just really ground me down though, and the instructor they had for hire wasn't really interested once you got him in the car.
The flip side of the testing arguement is that if you are there just to have fun it can be intimidating, guy I used to race with came out of the pit lane on his first test session expecting track day civility, a car came up the inside on the first corner and took his wing mirror clean off!
