Hi I have recently bought a BMW 535d Msport Touring 2008 its the 286hp and i am keen to have it re-mapped but obviously don’t want to then throw up loads of problems.
Has anyone had similar done? I am looking for a decent place to be recommended. I don’t live far from Woking Surrey.

The M57 responds very well to a Superchip remap, you can diy it with a Bluefin.

One thing to be aware of though is, as these cars get older you can clog the DPF far quicker with a remap.

Make sure everything is working as it should be for the car to be able to do a regen, main thermostat getting to 91ºc and sticking there, EGR 'stat working properly, no errors on the glow plugs.

Then make sure you do lots of 20 mile journeys.

My LCI 57 plate 530d didn't like being mapped, within weeks I got DPF warning after doing a few shorter trips into the city and back, 10 miles from the city.
I took it back to standard.
You could tell it was trying to do a regen far too often.

I sort of agree, but my old 535d touring was much better when it had the DMS treatment, it went on the rolling road at 344hp, so quite a gain.

BMWChiptune are well regarded, according to forum posts they also put right a lot of other tuners attempts.

Had a live remap on an E91 335d by Simon at Emaps http://www.e-maps.co.uk/
There are loads of different companies, but I picked Emaps as the reviews were consistently good ( on forums,by owners) and he came to me.He listened to what I was after and adapted the map to my style of driving-it was faultless over more than ten years of ownership with no fault codes or dpf problems.
The car had an extended official bmw warranty throughout ownership and I had plenty of work done under that warranty, without any issues.
I paid about £350 and in my opinion,it’s a worthwhile mod as long as you’re happy that you have a decent vehicle as a starting point.
Any questions,ask away

BWChiptune are good for this, they might give discounts if you are members on certain forums e.g. xDrivers.

I used Simon at Emaps, couldn't be happier.
You will get for your reasonable fee, 350 bhp and 700 nm torque.
Same engine as my 635d done 3 years ago, no problems, great performance.

That's impressive BoyBlue, what's the mileage? Also how many miles have you done since the remap? I've had my 535D done by Unicorn Remap and man does it fly! I am planning on keeping it for another two years but do not want expensive bills popping up.

I do not drive it hard, only occationally on weekends and even that is when it is fully warmed up and I also let it cool down before turning it off, have you had your gearbox serviced?

Thanks,m
