Hi guys

For those of you who take your Porsches on track, which are the best insurance providers for comprehensive cover plus a track day allowance? I tend to do around 3 track days per year, and paying for ad hoc day cover is proving to be a limiting factor. If its of any relevance, my current policy is for 15,000 miles pa, and I will need the same for the foreseeable. All suggestions welcome

Manning's
Competition car insurance
Kieth Micheal
Pace ward
Morris

All vary with the XS when on track depending on how much your car is worth so compare them all.

A Manning offer track day cover - just make sure you read the T&Cs on any policy before buying as I'm sure they'll be varying levels of cover/exclusions etc.

Henderson Taylor cover 5 track days per year including foreign circuits as long as it’s a U.K. company running it.

Chris,

I have just renewed with Manning and European track days (continent + Ireland) are still covered for an extra £250 per day with 24 hours notice (£500 if insured value is => than £100k). They include Nordschliefe as a track within this plus they have added RMA as a track day operator.

They cover track days operated by ATDO members, RMA and recognised car clubs of which the policy holder is a member.Track Day

My Policy Renewal Letter includes...

"The cover provided by your policy extends to include loss or damage to the vehicle named above whilst you are participating in a track day event in the United Kingdom which is organised and run by a Member of the Association of Track Day Organisers or a recognised Car Club of which you are a member or RMA Track Days providing there is no element of racing and/or competition. Track Day cover is included free of charge but is subject to a 10% vehicle value excess (with a minimum of £1500 applied).

European Track Day
Track day cover in Europe can be added as an option for individual days. The premium per day is £250 for vehicle values up to £99,999 and £500 for vehicles values of £100,000 and above. This is subject to the standard track day excess. Please note if you are attending a European track day and require insurance cover a minimum of 24 hours notice is required. Failure to give 24 hours notice may result in cover being refused."

I’ve used Manning for many years with my wife and two kids (30yrs) all insured. UK track days covered at no extra cost but European as above.
Turbo £390 per year. RS £1,200 per year.

Locton for Porsche club members is apparently very good. I think most companies 10% excess for track claims.
Cheers.
