996 tappet ticking

I don't know if this is a problem or not but on my C2 996 sometimes when starting I get a light ticking noise,it sounds like a tappet and lasts 15-30 seconds then disappears.The car has a full dealer history, has done 20K miles and is due a service next month , anyone have any suggestions?

could be one of the buckets on the hydraulic tappets,,,it may cure itself when you have the fresh oil at your next service. If the problem persists it's not that difficult or expensive to sort...tricky trying to see exactly which tappet it is to replace.

hi,

check with an opc but all 3 of my 996's did this from cold, its not a problem in my understanding.

i was told its to do with oil pressure build up in the hydraulic tappets.
