Panamera S 32,000 miles was told 3 month delay on driver side fender. I just called to confirm part delivery date and Porsche Customer Service is saying they can’t give me an estimated delivery date until November. Part likely not to arrive in US till 2019. I called dealership - they have another Panamera waiting for same part since May.

It’s a fender. What compensation should Porsche be offering? Please reply if you have had similar experience. I plan on contacting attorney, and am curious if a glass action would be justified here.

A few weeks, a month or so delay would be acceptable a 6 months to a year delay is wrong.
There clearly should be more concern shown to a loyal 29 year buyer of

.... buyer of???

Here in Europe it's €1,000 compensation for every year you've been a loyal customer.

So lawyer them up the ying-yang for $29,000 minimum my friend!

On reflection, I can see why he's annoyed.

Whose fault is it that you need the part? I've a hunch it won't be Porsche's. Get contacting scrapyards and drop the litigious mindset. Pain in the ass though it may be, Porsche don't owe you a thing.

+1, especially on a (well) used car. It's just life.

Of course they do. In the EU, for starters, car manufacturers must supply parts for a minimum of 10 years after production has ceased.

So I guess you think it's acceptable for a manufacturer to sell you a car, 1 or 2 years down the line you need an essential part and they tell you that this can be supplied in 6 months? Maybe?

6 months a bit long for such a young car- you can’t be only person in that boat? An argument that Porsche should pick up the some of/all of the bill for the price you pay for the wing - plus painting it- at a breakers yard?
Then again- an OPC wouldn’t fit a part sourced that way.
As others above have said - this is not a case for an attorney

From my post in the other parts delay thread:

I’m almost hitting 10 months with my 987 CS off the road awaiting a new rear quarter panel. Apparently they had to set up a new third party supplier to create the part. OPC were worse than useless. Porsche customer services have been great though.

It's a pain in the arse, and very poor on Porsche's part, yes. But compensation? Who damaged the wing / fender? Sue them, or man up.

Porsche did it with tyres when the 991 first came out. They were selling cars for which no tyres were available. Not super clever when also enforcing a policy of no puncture repairs.

I do like Porsche cars, but the company can be a bit crap at times.

Because I chose a Porsche repair I didn’t get a courtesy car. Porsche themselves sorted an E class due to delays though, and a 718 BS for Goodwood revival. Can’t complain! Will make sure I get a courtesy car and choice or repairer for next year.

Love this thread

Sorry OP, I would be very annoyed too if a part was out of stock that long. Having said that, I would never contemplate a lawsuit as a result - not sure where the law stands on having to supply replacement parts in a timely fashion.

No need to sue Porsche hanging out compensation and apologies
