2006 E65 730D - new battery needed
Discussion
Murdered mine today by running electrics as I've been swapping lights over and testing them etc
Trickle charger is saying that the battery is 'broken'; so looks like I need a new one
Can get a pal to code it in for me; but wondering if I actually need an AGM battery; seeing as my E65 doesn't have start/stop technology or whether the big Yuasa HSB019 will do as a replacement?
That's at £130 at Halfords whereas ECP want £320 for a Bosch AGM battery!
Thanks for any help/advice

I use Exide batteries. Pop your car details in to their battery finder (I use the app) and you’ll get a choice. I go for the biggest.
Then pop the part no into eBay, generally much cheaper than ECP/CP4LESS. Re non agm, if the car left the factory with one it’s best to use one given the E65’s electrics.
On a coincidental note spent 30 mins diagnosing sloppy handling on a 730i today (rear ball joints and susp arms).

Exide EK950 looks like the one, £155 eBay.Then pop the part no into eBay, generally much cheaper than ECP/CP4LESS. Re non agm, if the car left the factory with one it’s best to use one given the E65’s electrics.

Cheers for that
Update is that I got a power block and got the car going, so taken it for a good run and all seems fine. Fingers crossed it starts fine in the morning as I've chores to do
Time to get a jump starter for the garage; will probably order this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TACKLIFE-Starter-18000mAh...

Forgot to update this
For anyone reading; it was a Yuasa battery in that died, it clearly hadn't been coded to the car properly!
The car went into BMW and they sorted a new battery, coded it in and checked all the systems/modules for any parasitic drain and it came back with a clean bill of health, and a full wash and valet too
It was an AGM battery and full coding, it was a stIng at £300, but I wanted it doing properly and was happy to have the full clean bill of health alongside it too! Peace of mind etc, more so with the colder weather upon us too; it’s started faultlessly after some heavy frosts

All well and good, but for other owners reference:For anyone reading; it was a Yuasa battery in that died, it clearly hadn't been coded to the car properly

What was the price of all of that from BMW?
Did they fit an AGM battery?, or was it a standard battery?
(Why do people do that? - Post up about work they've had done, but never quote how much it cost? One of the main things owners want to know is how much repairs can cost!)
