Seems to be coming from the rear passenger side area. It started a couple of months a go and seems to have gotten worse, I have had a service on my car recently and was adivised to get new brake shoes. I had the wheels swapped temporarily and the noise was still there around the same area which is kind of annoying because the noise sounds very much like a that basket ball bouncing noise but in a rolling type of noise if you know what I mean, constant and even if the car is rolling 1 mph.

I do have a lot of creeking from teh rear brakes and the hand brake makes a bit of noise when released too which I might be wrong tells me something maybe dragging or rubbing rather than the noise coming form the tyre, what do you think?

If it’s not tyres then I’d guess fexible covers on rear drive shafts

Thanks guys I will tell the mechanic to check these things out. I must also add that the sound is more likea rolling drum type sound too, hard to explain. But I have noticed that thte sound near enough disappears when the wheel goes over very very soft tarmac.

Also my car is front wheel drive so I will get the mechanic to check the brake rotor as after doing a bit of research on youtube I saw a video of someone showing how to sand down the brake rotor if it is casuing noise so I could get that replaced too.

I think he means that when he recently drove through some active road works the sound of being shouted at by the road workers was louder.........

I don't think I have ever met a mechanic who welcomed being told how to do his job, especially by somebody who doesn't know what he's talking about.

If you're trying to solve this yourself, then seeking suggestions on the internet is perfectly reasonable.

If you're asking a professional to do it for you, better to stfu and let them get on with it. If they want advice, no doubt they will ask for it, and probably not from you or me.
