Oh dear, note to self, only serious comments for the aviation experts amongst us.
It’s good to see that pomposity is alive and well in a very small part of the human race. I’m duly chastened.
You might want to reread your original post and ask yourself how you might come across to someone who doesn't know you. It’s good to see that pomposity is alive and well in a very small part of the human race. I’m duly chastened.

So what exactly is a "fuel tube" ?
Wonder if this is one of the 946 faults they haven't quite managed to "manage" away??
Buzz words to come...

Just as a matter of interest, can you tell us what is your area of expertise in this world?Wonder if this is one of the 946 faults they haven't quite managed to "manage" away??

On this forum we try to keep silly nonsense at bay. It's a bit of a refuge from the idiocy one comes across in the News and Lounge Forums. It’s good to see that pomposity is alive and well in a very small part of the human race. I’m duly chastened.
People here, on the whole, tend to know what they are talking about.
I suppose it could be semantics in the distinction between "pausing flying" and "grounding", but the MoD Twitter account is denying it's a fleet-wide grounding:
"Contrary to reports, all F-35 jets have not been grounded. We have paused some F-35 flying as a precautionary measure while we consider the findings of an ongoing enquiry. Flight trials from @HMSQnlz continue and the programme remains on schedule"
Better safe than sorry though, I suppose. It's not like teething problems in new technology is unheard of.

Yeah, but mine has pretty pictures attached. "Contrary to reports, all F-35 jets have not been grounded. We have paused some F-35 flying as a precautionary measure while we consider the findings of an ongoing enquiry. Flight trials from @HMSQnlz continue and the programme remains on schedule"

The important sentence is the one stating that trials from HMSQnlz are carrying on as normal as that kind of refutes the whole "OMG the sky is falling in" rhetoric. HMSQnlz herself confirms that it's business as normal.

Sarcastic humour doesn't always translate in the written word on a worldwide forum....which is what these things are for - hint, hint It’s good to see that pomposity is alive and well in a very small part of the human race. I’m duly chastened.

You might consider it semantics, but "Grounding" and "pausing flying" are quite different - in the same way that having no MOT is different to having a warning light showing on your dashboard.Cold said:

"Conclusion
The first phase of the MDP has looked to set the direction we intend to take. It has clarified three key themes we should consider in the next phase: firstly, our Armed Forces need to be ready and able to match the pace at which our adversaries now move. Secondly, our Armed Forces need to be a fighting force fit for the challenges of the 21st century. And, finally, we need to transform the business of Defence to deliver a robust, credible, modern and affordable force.
The Prime Minister, Chancellor and I will continue to work closely throughout the next phase of the MDP, and I will keep the House updated as decisions are made.
We will continue to meet our commitment to our partners and maintain a full spectrum of nuclear, conventional and cyber capabilities to match our global ambition. With one of the largest Defence budgets in the world, and the highest in Europe, our Defence budget is increasing in real terms by £1 billion a year during this Parliament. The stage is now set for the next phase of this programme of work to ensure UK defence and our Armed Forces can continue to keep our country safe, our people and interests around the world secure, and help ensure that the UK can continue to play a major role on the world stage."
