Anyone in south east (Berks, Surrey, Hants) got this exhaust on an otherwise unmolested 450?
Would love to have a listen to see if it is for me

Have nothing to show you but we have had a number of these through our workshop and they are IMHO by far the best sounding exhaust.
I have them going on my own 400 but it is not up and running yet.

I have a full ACT Cherry bomb system on my standard 450 and it is the perfect exhaust for the car. The previous exhaust had the sleeving done on middle box and was really a touch too loud for my liking, but we are talking TVR here smile

The cherry bomb is a much richer sound and is a lot easier on the ear when driving, plus I can pass 105db tests without mufflers now so track days are a little more fun.

Would love to bring the car out to demonstrate for you but it is in storage ahead of being sold currently.

That's exactly what I have been told. The car is otherwise completely standard and not too disappointed in the sound when extended but would like a little more V8 rumble if you know what I mean.
Previously had a 450 sleeved and found it too much like a motorboat if I am being honest.
Would still really like to hear one though if poss?

The Offord mod was not a true cherry bomb, iirc it was the original exhaust sleeved with wadding left in. The ACT solution is a complete new back section with their own specification cherry bomb silencers

This is mine with Clive F Y piece, ACT manifolds and ACT cherry bomb:

The Offords was not a Cherry bomb, it was advertised as a sports exhaust. I have had 2 pieces of rusty pipe installed about 10 years ago. And a fair bit of cr@p from them them when I complained.
The ACT cherry bomb is a full exhaust system and sounds great.
The big difference between straight through and cherry bomb is the noise.. straight through and it’s difficult to hold a conversation next to a car on tickover but whilst cherry bombs are loud the noise is behind the car rather than the car being noisy if that makes sense.
You can buy your own cherry bombs that will fit in the back box and weld them in yourself. I’ve done that before and they sound just as good and a lot cheaper.
But the ACT system is quality and I’ve since bought it.
