Hi Everyone,

I need some new tyres for my 997.2 Turbo S.

It is under warranty and has ceramics and centre lock wheels, so i'm going to bite the bullet
and ask OPC to supply and fit at impending service. Bit concerned anyone else could potentially damage ceramics after hearing a few horror stories.

Anyway, which are the best tyres currently? No track day requirement but drive the car appropriately when conditions allow.

On my previous 997.1 Turbo i had Michelin Pilot Sport 2 fitted and liked them a lot.

My car currrently has Bridgestones fitted (i think they were fitted from new, 2012 and are now at 11K miles). Although i don't dislike them, i got more road feedback from the PS2's on my last car.

Lastly, what kind of prices can i expect to pay at OPC (+ or - retail?)

Thank you for anyone who has time to reply.

The general consensus seems to be that the Michelin PS4S is the tyre of choice now. I have P Zeros on my 7.2 turbo but am also looking to change early next year. I keep hearing rumours that the PS4S is now N rated so I’ll be following this thread with interest to find out if this is true.

I contacted Michelin last week I also have a 7.2 Turbo S. I will be due tyres soon and would like to get PS4S but Michelin said they aren’t N rated in my size. They didn’t recommend using non N rated tyres and said I can only get PS2 in my size.

From speaking to others they have said it doesn’t matter if I use non N rated but Porsche won’t renew a warranty without N rated tyres fitted.

That’s so frustrating. They appear to be N rated in other sizes and seem to be by far the best tyre out there at the moment.

I think the N rating just means Porsche have tested them. I dont think they ever will .

I'm going to change mine to PS4S unless someone gives me a good reason not to other than warranty
