Its time to do a thread that will allow us to accurately guage the ability of the AJP8s reliability. Can everyone who owns a V8 engined Cerbera please post thier mileage, engine capacity and any major engine work that was carried out (preferably with the mileage at which it happened?) ** plus the cars year would be nice... sorry forgot to add that**

Thanks in advance, I will happily start with:

1997
54,000 miles+
4.5 litre
Still flying with no major problems

Engine rebuild at 30K. You could say this was preventative rather than needed.. All piston rings worn and smoking quite heavily under acceleration and over-run but running fine otherwise

Runs like a dream ever since

No probs, though I hear that in 2003 the engine was checked, not rebuilt. This came from the factory.

39000 miles - no engine problems other than currently having head gasket replaced due to small coolant leak. Uses hardly any oil at all.

I think I remember seeing it had the clatter cams replaced sometime in the 20's. Other than that, nothing.

48,000 Full engine rebuild
New block
Crank
Pistons
Rods

In fact the only things left from the old engine are the Sump and the heads.

Just turning 60,000 (Service next week) and sounding so sweet, refitted the cats on Saturday.

Anyone want some 4.2 de-cat pipes?

38K, No problems, still on "clatter" cams too. Goes like a rocket, well it would if I had a clutch

It was mentioned when I bought it, that there was some engine work done, but dunno what mileage or what needed doing.

I think it still has the original clatter cams.
