A4 B8.5 TFSI Quattro - extra oomph?
Discussion
Got a 2013, 211 bhp. Goes well enough but just feels a bit lacking. Seems they’re fairly easy / safe to chip to 270 ish. and a lot more with a bigger turbo.
Spent a few nights Google and quite fancy the ABT module, expensive but I can’t find a single post on any forum from someone who has the box on. I would like to see real world before & after, something I can’t see Richter can do?
R-tech near me, all good reviews, and top end guys like MRC. Worth sticking a sports cat, bigger inter cooler on and going custom? Don’t want one of those horrible foam intakes.
Can’t decide. Is remap car death or good? So many must be done these days. ABT review on a 211 Quattro anywhere?

I nearly bought one of these four years ago but purchased a B8 S4 instead and it made more sense. I'm now on my second S4 (B9) and I've love both of them, I can also average 34-36 on a motorway cruise at 70mph.
The 2.0 has the oil usage issue and putting more pressure on it doesn't make sence.
Just my opinion though.
P.s both s4's easy enough to get over 400bhp.

The oil useage issues are pretty much fixed on the later engines as I understand.d it. Did look at the S4 but wanted the b9, will have to wait until there’s some 2 yr old ones in the Audi approved. The 2.0 has the oil usage issue and putting more pressure on it doesn't make sence.

The facelift cars are fine on that front.
The torque gain is really good fun/noticable on these.
Pick a tuner who can offer some support if you have a question/problem, better still if they're reasonably local. Avoid anyone that's just installing someone else's cheap software from the back of their car. Make sure you're up to date on your gearbox oil changes too.
Cheesy old line my dad liked, when tuning cars you cna pick any 2 of the below:
Cheap
Powerful
Reliable

very likely be getting Stage one on my '09 2.0T Q next month (208bph) - would this increase to circa 260/270bhp bring it in line with an S4 regarding getting down the road? As in traffic light grand prix. Asking for a friend
Seen a few posts saying these give a bit more as standard, around 218-220. 0-60 is supposed to be 6.5 standard but seems to be 6.1 typically.
V-power or Momentum, stage 1 to around 260-280 and i’ve seen 5.5-5.4 recorded. B8 S4s can hit it in 4.6-4.8 so, no..
Only way to hit that is K04 kit or hybrid turbo and all that grief. Who you going to use to do the mapping?
cheers mate - appreciate the response - was planning on using R-Tech, but think I heard they don't do B8's now?! And to go to APR.
Regrettably, the plan was to get it mapped before I brought it back home to Ireland. Didn't work out.
So it'll be TDR Performance in Ireland - they're the best we have over here - but I'd much prefer to be getting it done UK. Will see how it goes.
Nice to hear re the audi official figures and real world - when it's on song it does really pull, but more often then not, it's just got getting there.
Ideally if it can 'feel' or match my old '00 B5 S4, I'll be over the moon. It had a very healthy 265bhp, but even healthier Ib/ft of 325!
Anyway, thanks again for reply, will keep updated with the progress.

How many miles has the clutch/flywheel done?
Thread resurrection time. Uncanny, clutch/flywheel now f
ked, 1200 miles after buying the car from Audi, no remap or tuning box and relatively careful driving (family trips and motorway miles). Thought I’d get a manual for reliability.
Juddering intermittently when cold or reverse, noise when moving off on an incline. Booked in for confirmation. Going to be an interesting conversation ref’ warranty.
Got a feeling i’ll Be trading it ASAP for an S4..
