They are Billions

Only discovered "They are Billions on Steam" this last week and by god I'm pulling my frigging hair out!
Best way for me to describe it is C&C on crack. Starts off sedate and gets harder and harder as the game days go on, ending with Armageddon (apparently, I've never got past 100 days!)
I'd consider myself a fairly good RTS player, C&C and Starcraft etc. But with TAB I've had to drop the difficulty settings down to only 22 percent of normal and I'm still struggling.
Anyone else had a go and more importantly got any tips because I'm failing miserably?

I love this game, have 150 logged on it. I've completed most of the levels but it took me a long time to do the first! Clearing the map before endgame is important - I usually send huge batch of snipers out, maybe titans if I have them. Aside from that, don't be afraid to restart if the map isn't sustainable - you want good chokepoints. Set up markets to sell excess (I sell oil early on, seem to get more selling it yourself).

Also...as a kind of cheat, if I find a good map then I copy my save folder so I can restore if it all goes wrong, which it does, a lot!

Funnily enough, I discovered the ability to save the save files last night, invaluable! I reckon that's why the game is so hard, we're so used to the ability to just start from the last save, lose in TAB and that's it, start again.
