The US article above was not too impressed with the new 992 interior which is a shame as the 991 properly specced has a quality feel to it...

But, after borrowing the new Cayenne for 3 days last week I would have to agree. The interior switch controls are bloody awful. Look very cheap for a £94k car (list inc options), and very clumsy to use / navigate through the menu/s. Leather seats and dash quality was as good as previous gen Cayenne (which I own), but the functional bits that you touch and press have a horrid cheapness to them. Even the exterior door handles don't have the same premium feel to them. I think I must be in the minority with the new 2018/9 Cayenne but I thought it was a huge disappointment, and definitely a step down in quality from the model it replaces. I wasn't overly impressed with the engine either.

I've always fancied buying a brand new base Carrera, speccing it lightly and keeping it for ever. The 992 could be that car. Looks gorgeous.

It’s all about ones own priorities.

I bought my 981 C 2.7 brand new with very few options. I don’t want a faster car or care about coloured stitching or dead cow covering the dashboard. None of that would have added any more enjoyment to my ownership.... yet would have cost up to £20k more.

Well said....I adore my 2018 C2 running on 19 inch alloys. Plenty fast enough, rides superbly and seems loved by everybody who has a ride in it.

Cheers, dear fellow!

I am always amazed how so many people see the 'S' in any Porsche range as the default choice. The non 'S' versions offer a much more bespoke choice to the new car buyer without getting burdened with options that aren't required.

I think it's the most generous thing that Porsche do = offer a car without all the useless options that other manufactures factor in to their price!
