Sitting outside Bike Stop in Stevenage having a cup of tea. Woman pushing a baby in a pushchair and a bottle of Coke falls from her shopping and starts rolling down the pavement. She chases it, letting go of the pushchair and sure enough, the pushchair starts rolling towards the busy High Street.

Luckily, it got wedged between my bike and a 1299. Had either bike not been there it would've rolled into the road and almost certainly been ttted as vision was obscured by a delivery van.

Poor woman was in absolute pieces when she realised.

That kid will never know how lucky it was.

Reminds me of the countless idiotic parents when trying to cross the road between parked cars push their pushchair into the road before they can even seen traffic on the road.

Perhaps she was just a tired, stressed out mum at the end of a long week, not thinking straight and not having the fighter pilot reactions of the average PBCD type PH-er, thinking the brake might not be needed on that relatively gentle incline. We all make mistakes.

Well done OP. Surely the kid is destined ofr a life of expensive Italian metal now!

I had a little scuff on mine but it wiped off. The 1299 was unmarked.

I didn't do anything. I just parked and had tea, which I admit is a stressful day for me.

I saw a Fireblade SP in the metal for the first time yesterday, I have to say it's a lovely bike, the bling really does set it ahead of the "boggo" Blade.

Saves children too, who'd have thought?

Two bikes parked on the street, that's bravery right there. Saving a child is secondary.
