First step would be to install the Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress - https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/

Have you done a Google Page Insights / Page Speed report on the site? You're currently around 60/100 so picking off some of the Google recommendations is a good start.

Change "Professional Window Tinting Services in Sussex" to a h1 tag, rather than h2. You seem to have a good search profile already, you come top in Google business listings and 2nd in organic search for "window tinting Sussex".

What is your click through rate? It may be worth changing your SEO title and description to get people to click on your link e.g:

Rather than delving head first into learning SEO "completely" you may be better off just doing what previous posters have mentioned as you are ranking really well already.

If you really want your head to explode check out this link:

As Si1295 says, first step should be creating a h1 on the homepage.

You need to look at compressing your images, over 40% are over 100kb including a couple of abolsute whoppers such as this - https://www.sussexwindowtinting.co.uk/wp-content/u...

It looks as if a lot of the content - including the sitemap - hasn't been updated since since June 2016, so you want to make sure that is up to date. Have you recently purchased the business?

SEO is a bit like plaiting fog, constantly changing.

I ended up trying google adwords express but as the keyword thing loads thousands that you have to delete or mark as bad I gave up and switched to AdWords. Loads of companies got in touch saying they would bring in the website hits but I was about ready to can it.

Thought about it for weeks and then got a call out of the blue from a Google account manager. Told me my account settings were wrong, talked me through the settings. She’s talked me through setting campaigns, targeting, setting up analytics, next call we’re on adverts. Brilliant, worked so well. Part of the google service.

Got so many clicks I hit my daily/monthly budget and the phone calls increased noticeably. It’s also got me up the search results ‘organically’ somehow.

My website still needs a lot of work but you can do a lot worse than get advice straight from Google.

Can I authorize anyone to access my website to make these changes ? Or possibly get the software and do it myself?

If you're trying to establish a web page, new keyword or using "black hat" techniques then I would agree. For the OP who has his page at SERP 2 for his, I assume, primary keywords he needs to look at why people aren't clicking on to his site.

P.S Glad to hear adwords is working for you, I tried it with adwords express like you and got fed up with the amount of incorrect search terms I was being displayed for

You can do it all yourself for free, have you got the login and password for your website?

Hi jmcc42uk,

There are a few things that'd be worth doing. I've just had a (very very quick) look.

Get yourself a google business listing, it's free, it'll show next to your business in some searches. It'll help you with local search visibility too.
https://www.google.com/business

Adding Yoast is a good call if you're comfortable in the admin area of your site you can do that yourself. Good idea to back the site up before you do add anything in there though.

If you'd like more help I can take a detailed look for you just send me a DM.
