Best place to buy clutch parts?

Hi all - can you advise me the best (cheapest) place to buy a replacement clutch cylinder?

Slave!

No clutch today, pedal goes to floor. My mechanic says it'd be best to replace the cylinder while he's at it, rather than just the seals.

So I want to order the parts before I tow the car round to him!

There is no need to change the actual cylinder unless its damaged. You should only need seals and a new release bearing. Get your seals from Joospeed, he is the only supplier that uses the uprated material.

Also make sure that when the slave is refitted you put the ports at 12 and 6 o'clock, not 3 and 9 as they come from the factory, as you will never bleed it.

Is it not wothwhile changing the cylinder anyway, while its all in bits, to ensure that the whole arrangement is in perfect condition?

Rather than risk having to do it all over again in a few 1000s of miles' time?

You could do, but they are £150 if you can get one.

Really if its not marked in any way just change the seals.

He's quite right, if there's no scoring of the bore then it's just a waste of money to replace the whole assembly, with care and judicious use of clutch fluid when refitting seals and piston it will be as good as new.
