My Rush has the high back seats fitted (I didn't built it)and despite giving them a fair chance, they're a bit too high up, meaning I end up looking over the screen half the time. I've investigated the fixings & runners etc but there doesn't seem to be much scope to alter. Has anyone had the same problem or used the less expensive squab seats to good effect. Has anyone got a set of the other seats??

Have you got to use the subframes? I've been in a Rush with the highbacks in and they were ok height wise, but i think they were mounted directly on the floor.

I've got Elise seats in my Rush at the moment, which i'm selling cos i sit about an inch too high. I'm going for a set of Motordrive seats mounted on the floor.

Thanks for the response, I couldn't believe it when I saw SWEATYSOCK has an Elise as well, we have a 2000 (W) S1 as well - must be something in the Genes! I'm going to remove the seats in the next day or so & see what's what, I've got a right crik in my neck at the mo!. Carb's have worked loose now and I've a float problem meaning fuel is 'issing out all over the engine bay, Hmm feel carb' overhaul coming up!

I went through a whole host of seat designs in a vain attempt to get low enough in my Aeon GT2. In the end I came to the conclusion that racing seats were my only option apart from scatter cushions .

To add insult to injury I found that I was too wide for most conventional seats (Cobra Imola, Monaco etc) and had to look at the more unconventional seats like the Kirkey range. These are built for Canadian backsides and I think I must be Canadian coz I can fit in them! Made of alluminium they look a bit wacky (which suits me nicely) and are a little more laid back so headroom becomes less of an issue.

p.s. Sweaty - I could be interested in your Elise seats if they are still up for grabs

Thanks guys, carb's firmly bolted back on now (Aerotight nuts highly recommended)Going to tackle the seats now, I now realise I too must be a Canadian RazMan. As well as being a bit high my seats pinch my flanks a bit too so they'll have to go. I'll remove em today and see if I can do something from 'bare cockpit'level, simple squabs should do the trick. Watch this space.
