Peninsula tubular wishbones

Like mine, but a bugger to grind off to get clearance past the steering upper UJ + still fouls when jacked up!

Just a thought - aren't the wishbones designed to be sacrificial and bend instead of the chassis in the case of non serious impact? If you replace them with strong tubular versions do you have to be prepared for a knock that could have resulted in a grand's worth of damage possibly writing off the car?

You may have a point there. Although I didn't think they were intended to be stronger, just less prone to corrosion, the tubular design may well prove to be 'stronger' in some orientations than the original design... certainly their characteristics are bound to be different.

I haven't heard anything about these for a while. Last I heard (July 2003) was that they were having to rethink the design to get around a fouling problem. Has anyone spoken to them to get it from the horses mouth!?
