Realise bulkhead will not be possible but has anyone renewed the inner wing heat shields with the engine in situ?

I did mine earlier this year and it is possible. I used a multi tool to remove the rivet heads and a scraper to get the existing heat shields off. The only tricky areas are the block for the brake and clutch pipes on the offside and the heater pipes on the near side. I was also able to do the top of the bulkhead but did remove the plenum for access.
I used a high temp contact adhesive from car builder solutions to glue the new ones back in and used a wallpaper seam roller to smooth out any ripples / bubbles as I went.

Thanks for reply did you rivet the new one in place or just use the adhesive? Also did you manage it with exhaust still in place?

I didn't bother re-riveting the heat shield, the adhesive was a high temp one and sticks like the proverbial st to a blanket so I was happy not to re-rivet. I did take the manifolds off to make access easier but I think it could be done with them in situ if you reallydidnt want to remove them.

If your aren't too bad and just have a little of the silver missing the self adhesive Aluminium insulation tape blends in well and mine has been on a good while with no signs of the bond failing.

50mm wide £2.99 Screwfix will do the job nicely.

The Dial brand stuff at screwfix has mixed reviews. I used the end of a roll I'd previously bought from Toolstation for insulation.
