I have just had my rad re-cored and will be putting it back in on Saturday.
As everything is out at the moment, should I replace everything just as a maintenance precaution?

I am talking about the thermostat, otter switch and fan belt. TVR dealers do both the normal & hot weather otters and therms. Basically they cut in at a lower temperature.

So, should I re-fit the normal new ones or the dearer ones? Or even replace them at all, and just stick the new rad back in?

Cheers

I'd leave it unless you have a problem.

I know where you are coming from, but its just the theory of 'prevention better than a cure'. But with the 'If it aint broken, don't fix it' theory there, its hard to decide.

With the swirl pot/tank out, the otter is well accesible. So just gave it a thought.

Speaking of the swirl tank, when I undid the two longer bolt, coolant(alot of it) came out. There was silicone sealant caked around it, to stop leaks.

Is it best to use sealant again, and if so, do you just squirt it into the whole before putting bolt back in? Or should I use that white tape that plumbers use to wrap round bolt thread?
