I've been reading the cinema thread with interest and alarm at some of the more intolerant spoutings.

However, I was at a concert last week where a punter behind me sang along, but approximately 0.5 seconds behind every lyric. It was like being in a place with a bad, slightly out of tune echo.

Is this potentially a mental health issue or just bloody annoying?

I'm rather intrigued as to what could cause such an issue and if i could legitimately have taken um-bridge or am I an intolerant git.

I refrained, but it was very, very close.

At Primavera last year in Barcelona, during the Arcade Fire performance, the guy in front of me started singing along to In The Backseat. It's a elegiac song about death in the family, sung by Regine Chassagne, in her high voice. The first time she got to the "chorus", we had to suffer a shouted "Alice died in the night" alongside Regine's pure plaintive rendition.

I told him he needed to shut up right away. Amazingly, another bloke told me off for being harsh on him!

Brits can't even clap in time, let alone sing.

Having played in front of 2000 latin types (mixed races), it's astonishing how much natural rhythm they have (clapping) and how little us Brits have.

Sad but true.
